An Interview… Tuesday, Apr 14 2009

One day I was thinking about my blog and hw can I give a solution to this vast problem in front of me. Suddenly, one of my room mates came to me and told me to wake her up early, because she has to go to a school.
I was surprised, “oh, school? For what Nishu?” I asked.
“To teach, teach to some street children.” She answered with a smiling face.
“Street children? Where?”I asked with a surprised, because I didn’t believe that there is a school for street children.
That time I was thinking about street children’s education. I thought that if anyhow we can teach the children, then they will think to come from the frame of street child. I saw only this topic as a solution. I asked her about the children. I’ll summarize some of the information which she gave me that day.
“The students are like to study and they are doing well. They have knowledge as well as others. The only thing is there’s no one to take them out from their situation. They need help from someone. They are poor, and their parents don’t have any idea about education. This is the reason to continue their generations as same. Many people are talking about them and sometimes they tell the situation more badly than they have. This kind of things causes to fall their mental conditions totally. So, what we have to do and what they expect from us is look at them with open eyes and care about them with a sensitive heart. ….”
Nishu
These are some information which I got from my friend. I have got much information from her about their education and how much they like to study. While I was searching a possible solution for them I have got a small sign of a good solution. I wish this will spread its branches all over the Asia and supply the shade of it to suffering children which is the future of the Asia.

A tender experience… Monday, Apr 6 2009

child

One day I went outside in the morning about 6.30 am. I felt sorry for the little kids who were sleeping under a tree. They were sleeping in their mother’s lap with the love of her. There were two little kids who were around two-three years old.

They woke up by the notice which came from us. Oh! He was laughing at us. My teacher said,” oh! He is cute.”

“Yap, really he is!” I said.

But, the cute little child was sleeping under a tree. Why they are spending a life like this?

It remembered me my childhood. I felt angry about myself. How comfortable was my childhood? These children are suffering their lives with lots of struggles and difficulties. I didn’t have these difficulties when was in this age.

He stood up and looked at us. He was happy to see us. He followed us and then the mothers woke up and hold the child. The child pointed us which symbols that he wants to follow us. The mother came few steps and stopped. The child was waving his hand at us. We also waved wt the little child.

This incident was printed in my mind few days before. They are living in front of our building. My thoughts stared to fight each other asking that, do I have to anything to do for them which Is possible to do for them.

A content accent … Friday, Apr 3 2009

Millions of Asian children are on the streets; do not have a family, compulsory to live on the streets. Some people supplies food, clothes, medication and educational materials to drop-in shelters and participate in programs which present services to penniless children. Grassroots Asia is an organization which works for the betterment of street children in this area.

It works with organizations in Asia to develop creative solutions toward combating the trafficking of children for prostitution. Grassroots Asia funds programs which efficiently address prevention in high-risk areas and those which provide treatment services to precious children.

As I have talked before, there are some people who pay attention to these innocent little children. If they can help the children to come over the problems which they have, it will be a forwarded step for their future.

A sign of sun rising… Sunday, Mar 29 2009

Today my post is going to talk about a different report which I found from New Age newspaper. As it says there is a kind of happy incident that, they have a chance to raise their voice to the society. I think if this is true and if this condition continue foe a long time, it will be like the sunlight to the street children.

pd21768411

It has recognized four lakh street children from the capital city who have been earning money in a miserable way.  Moreover, they have seen that if the children did not get any attention of a development, they will suffer their lives.

Population service training centre and plan in Bangladesh were organized a function for the Independence Day. It says that the purpose of organizing the function is bringing the needs of street children to the society to get the supports like education, health and homes from it.  There was a prize giving also for the street children. It focused to take out the children’s real situation as a child from the frame of street child. The people who were kind of responsible in the country said that though, street children are lagging far behind the process of development, they should have all the supports as a child from society. Some street children have recited poems, staged dramas and rendered poems at the function.

All these things show that even street children can do many things more than we think that they can do. There are many talents which are hidden inside of them. It’s glad to hear like this voice which shows a kind of persuasion as a responsible field to a needy section in society.

But, I would not trust the society at once that the society is more sensible. Still there’s my opened eyes’ looking at the society until they get their right position.

The sun has not risen yet… Wednesday, Mar 18 2009

street-child

As I have mentioned before, street children don’t have the same picture which is in our mind about them. It is totally different than seems and thoughts of us. Here, I have found a story from Dhaka which is the capital city of Bangladesh.

”There are two boys who wake up before the sun raises, about 4 am. They live near the port on the Buriganga River in Dhaka. Even the capital city is busy and full of people; they don’t have time to care about these poor little children.  They live on small wooden planks who are 10 years and 14 years kids.  Their job is collecting empty bottles and fills them with fresh water. At last they sell them and earn some money. Then, they beg on the road whole the day time. Some days, they don’t get anything to eat for the whole day”.

This is how, they are passing their days. There are about 250,000 to 400,000 street children in Dhaka. Even everyone is talking about a rapid urbanization all over the Bangladesh today, it doesn’t mean that there’s no any space which we should specially focus on, but when we hear about these things can we backward to society?

Passing Sorrows on the Street… Saturday, Mar 14 2009

street-children

As normal children they have born to the world. Who thought that he will be a street child? Who decided it? Everything has decided by society. They should be street children, society has decided.

As a still developing country, poverty is a big issue in Bangladesh. Therefore, today many people are on the street as beggars. Then, who are street children? The children who live on the street with thousands of sorrows are not a new thing for them. Their days are passing with tears 24 hours on the street as usual with their sorrows.

Sting Uncouth Words … Friday, Mar 6 2009

BANGLADESH MUDSLIDES

All over the world a big amount of money is spending for the benefit of children. Though everyone is thinking about them, still poverty is there which causes to increase the amount of street children. Even it is a developed country, street children is a common scene.

Age is not a matter, if the child can stand from his legs he can be a street child who beg in front of dollars. Sometimes people don’t care even he is a child. Poverty has pushed him to a deep hollow.  He is suffering in this hollow with lots of tears.  As a child he should get a good education to live as a citizen in society. But, what is happening right now is the children who are on the street are don’t have and no one care about them to give their rights. They spent their every second to beg for their livelihood or the family to earn.

As a still developing country in Bangladesh one million people are living on the street in the capital city, Dhaka while nine million people are living there.  The children who live on the street are enjoying their lives in different ways on tar roads without any top. As we see from the top of the problem, the situation is not matching with it. We think that their main problem is they don’t have food, water. But, they are saying that their problem is torching by others in society.  Even they don’t have money they are saying that they can live with a small amount of food. But, treating them as animals is hard to tolerate in the society.

Their words are hitting me to my heart to think about them more and do something for them. Can I do something for their benefit?

Awaiting for Tomorrow…. Monday, Mar 2 2009

Bangladesh

These are children who are ready to take the responsibility to be in charge of the nation. But, will they do it well? Without education, without knowledge to serve, will they do their duty well?

This picture is in Bangladesh, which is in South Asia. Instead of going to school and get education, this girl is looking after her little brother while begging along road. May be their parents also begging, so they can’t take little child with them. So, this elder child in family is taking care of that little child. This is their days. They are passing their hours like this. Even hundreds of stars light in dark sky for them, at least one star doesn’t look at them. How many societies are their which works for their betterment? But, still tears are in their eyes. When their tears will run away from their little eyes?

Still there is a hope with a great wish. Here I am looking for tomorrow, to see smile in their face.
